Reiki Treatments for Dogs – Healing Energy for the Body, Mind and Spirit (Now Open!)

The Retreat believes strongly in exploring all avenues and options when it comes to the health, happiness and well being of your dog and the results from Reiki Therapy Treatment on canine’s has been very impressive.

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) comes from the Japanese words Rei and Ki,  meaning spiritually guided life energy and is a Japanese holistic energy healing system that is gentle and noninvasive, yet yields powerful results for your dog’s body, mind and spirit.  It can be used as a treatment for relaxation or as a powerful healing tool to help reduce your dog’s stress, relieve pain, headaches, stomach upsets, asthma, back problems, sinus issues, respiratory problems, canine hip dysplasia, anxiety and much more.  Many pet owners have stated they’ve seen almost instant and positive results in their dogs after the very first Reiki Treatment.
Reiki Therapy Treatments are a non-intrusive method of healing that taps into the energy referred to by philosophers and martial artists as ki in Japan, chi in China, and prana in India.  Reiki is a technique that addresses both chronic and acute conditions, gently and powerfully promoting balance among all the bodies systems.

The diagram below shows the seven centers of energy in your dog.  Reiki for dogs focuses on changing the energy from one center to another to bring about balance. The hand positions control the Chi and release energy blockages allowing for a unhindered flow. The seven centers consist of the Root chakra, Navel or Sensory chakra, Solar Plexus chakra, Heart chakra, Throat chakra, Brow or Third eye and the Crown chakra. These chakras are specifically connected to different glands in your dog and can make the glands release hormones directly into the blood stream and control all aspects of your dogs’ daily activities and healthy thinking.

Exercise; It Does a Dog’s Body Good

dog walking in the southbayThe Wellness Center understands that walking, running, playing and exercising in general are all necessary ingredients for your dog to maintain a high level of health, well being and happiness.   Each dog has a different natural activity or energy level, but most canine authorities believe that even the lowest energy level dog’s need about an hour a day of continuous exercise in order to stay healthy and happy.

The vast majority of dogs enjoy being in the company of other dogs, but there are also dogs that need or desire a more one-on-one experience and the Retreat doesn’t disappoint.   Our nature walks to and from local parks can be scheduled for either 30 minutes or 1 full hour and cater to both small groups and individual dogs.  We’ve even got extended exercise and “jogging in the park” programs for those dogs with a seemingly endless supply of energy.

Walking, playing and exercising all day is a fun way for your dog to stay as healthy as possible and a tired, satisfied dog is usually a well-behaved dog.  It doesn’t matter whether you do it for your dog’s health, happiness or for his well being, what matter is that you do it!

All Retreat Wellness Center Services are by appointment only, so call us at 310-530-0800 or email us to schedule a 30 minute, 1 hour or extended play Nature Walk or to receive further information on our wellness center services and how you and your dog might benefit from using them.
